R&D Organization

Sony R&D can be broadly divided into two sectors.

"Business Groups R&D" is positioned within the electronics business group and pursues R&D to support technology development for "next stage" products.

"Corporate R&D" pursues technology development to create new business sectors for the near-future as as the most highly advanced cutting-edge technology. Sony has technology centers and labs around the world driving the realization of these missions.

The Sony Spirit

Creative minds resonating with each other to bring new emotion and wonder to the world. Since its founding, Sony has evolved into a global group spanning many domains from electronics to game, music, movies, finance and personal solutions. Yet underlying these different business and regional cultures there is one "Sony Spirit". The "Sony Spirit" is shared by all employees as the company moves forward to an even more dynamic and attractive future.

Dreams, Emotions, Innovations. Based on these three key elements the creative minds in the Sony group resonate with each other to bring new emotion and wonder to the world.
